How to cut heart shaped wedding cake

Heart-Shaped Wedding Cake Tiers:

1. From the fuller outer edge of the heart, measure in 2 inches and make a vertical cut all the way from top to bottom.

2. Slice 1 inch pieces from this row. (NOTE: As you approach the curved “ends” of the heart you will leave more than 1 inch, so each piece is approximately still 2 inches x 1 inch)

3. Move in 2 inches from the cut edge and cut again vertically from top to bottom.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the entire tier is cut.

♥ Remember: To make the cuts, dip a large, sharp knife in hot water. Shake off the excess water and apply steady, even pressure to the knife handle to make a clean slice (not too fast and not too slow) into the cake. Wipe the knife with a towel between each cut to clean off frosting left behind from the last one. Carefully drop each piece of cake on its side on a dessert plate and place on a tray, serving table, or wheeled cart to facilitate serving large amounts at once.
